Clear pricing from the first call

Putting the wrong fuel in your vehicle is stressful enough without worrying about hidden costs. At EEK Mechanical, we believe you should know how recovery is structured before you commit. Our pricing is published, itemised and easy to understand, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.

Every recovery follows the same straightforward model. We dispatch a tow truck to your location — whether that is a forecourt, the roadside, your home or a car park — and collect your vehicle. It is then transported to a GBIFDA-certified workshop, where manufacturer-spec fuel system recovery is carried out by trained technicians using proper workshop equipment. Recovery is never attempted at the collection location.

What the invoice actually covers

Transparency means showing you exactly what you are paying for. Each invoice is fully itemised, breaking down the individual elements of your recovery rather than presenting a single vague figure. The cost of a recovery varies by vehicle, tow distance, after-hours timing and the severity of contamination, and we make those variables clear from the outset.

Because no two recoveries are identical, we do not quote a one-size-fits-all number. Instead, we direct every customer to our published rate card, which sets out the components of a recovery in plain language. That way you can see the structure of the pricing before you ever need to call us.

Deposits and how they work

For most recoveries, a deposit secures your booking and confirms the dispatch of a tow truck to your location. The deposit is clearly identified as a separate line item on your invoice and is applied toward the total cost of your recovery. You will always see it accounted for, never absorbed into an unclear total.

If you have questions about how a deposit is applied, or want to understand any line item on an invoice, our team is happy to walk you through it. We would rather explain the detail than leave you guessing.

Recovery costs versus repair costs

It is worth distinguishing between two different things. The recovery itself — collecting your vehicle and completing manufacturer-spec fuel system recovery at the workshop — is what appears on your EEK invoice. If a vehicle has been driven after the wrong fuel was added, there may be additional component repairs required, such as to the fuel pump or injectors. Those repair costs are separate from the recovery invoice and can be substantial, which is why prompt collection matters.

Our role is to get your vehicle safely to a certified workshop as quickly as possible, reducing the chance of further damage and keeping the overall picture as straightforward as it can be.
